(ASCEND) Telnet slow downs



We have many customers (though we have never seen it here on our own Max1800) that have 
incredibly poor telnet performance when connecting to a Max 1800, 2000, or 4000 series. Whether 
it's through a dial up POTS, ISDN, or LAN connection (switch or hub), or via Internet access. 
The problem seems to happen sporadically but is terribly slow.  Once, at a particular customer's 
site we swapped out the 3Com office connect hub and everything was fine. However, we do not have 
this luxury at everyone's site since some use high end and live switches and hubs (imagine 
that!). Anyone else experience this? We have had code revisionsd from 4.x all the way up to 6.X. 
and usually the saem problem.  My thoughts were that the box was leaking memory or was 
overtaxed, but we can reproduce the problem with no one even connected to the box.
