(ASCEND) Pools and static IP on same Radius?

Hiya,

Up until now I've been running Radius[-971222] user profiles with static
IP mappings, but now have the requirement to have a default profile with
a small pool of addresses.

I configured the appropriate lines into my 'users' file -

pools-mymax Password = "ascend", User-Service = Dialout-Framed-User
        Ascend-IP-Pool-Definition = "1 12.34.56.78 15"

DEFAULT Password = "ACE", Ascend-Token-Immediate = Tok-Imm-Yes
        Framed-Protocol = PPP,
        User-Service = Framed-User,
        Framed-Netmask = 255.255.255.255,
        Ascend-Assign-IP-Pool = 1,
        Ascend-Idle-Limit = 0

Which should work? Anyway, when I try and start PPP, MS DUN (under Win95)
complains "Dial-Up Networking could not negotiate a compatible set of
network protocols" and I see that I'm being given address 0.0.0.0 by
PPP.

Normally I'd blame all this on DUN, but using a radius profile with a static
IP address in it on the same PC and it works happily.

Anything I'm doing wrong? Can Radius run with Pool and Static entries?

Many thanks,
Aron
