Re: [(ASCEND) PRI does not fill up after reboot]
Need to find out if the call even reaches the modem
in the MAX (when the problem occurs ie after the
normal/abnormal reboot). If you dial in with analog
phone do you hear the modem negotiation tone. Basically
we need to find out if the call is getting terminated
at the switch or at the MAX. If at the MAX then disconnect
and progress codes (along w/ syslog message) would be
helpful. If the call terminates the switch then you need
to look deep in to the telco switch setting.
BTW: What Software version on the MAX?

I've seen the following problem as long as I've had Maxes. I'm wondering
if anyone else has seen it or knows what the cause is.
After a Max reboots, either normally or abnormally, the PRIs come back up,
but they refuse to fill up. After n channels are filled up, the number
rings busy. n may be anywhere from 2 or 3 to 20 or more.
And it's always the same channels. As a fictitious example, I may see
after a reboot that channels 1-5 work, and 10, 15, and 20-23 (for a total
of 10 channels). The rest look idle according to the Max but they can't
receive calls.
If one of the calls on the 10 working channels drops, another call will
come in to replace it, but the remaining channels juts don't get used.
The problem clears after several consecutive reboots (after the reboot that
caused the problem in the first place).
Using NFAS across 2 PRIs, MAx 4048's, DMS-100, same problem with two
different telcos.
