I used to think that but you will only loose a few in the beginning. THose
are the ones that could have used dsl years ago but had to settle for DSL.

Nope... Here is why. DSL must be copper all the way from the CO to the
customer. DSL has a shorter distance limit. DSL cant use the current
repeater technology that ISDN can. DSL is NOT switched, so you cant switch
providers or go to your friends' house and use your fast dsl account.
Actually you can switch providers, its just much more of a hassle because
you have to get the fone co to do it.
