(ASCEND) LAN problems with P50

Hi,

I had some strange problems at a dialup customer. He
got a configured pipe 50 with official IP's from us. He
is also using private addresses on his LAN at some
WinNT machines. All machines with official IP's are
working fine - but the workstations with privat IP's 
show a address conflict at bootup with the MAC address
of the pipe 50. I tried to change the IP of the pipe
and an other firware (first b2.p75 6.1.44, second b2.p75 6.0.13)
without success. I solved the problem by replacing
the router (the customer got a Bintec-XS). I'm able
to reproduce the problem in our office LAN. Only
plugging the pipe 50 in our hub - I got the same
problems (we are not using private addresses, but
other official IP's).
I sent the config to the support of our Ascend dialer-
he said the config is okay.

What's wrong? I still have warranty to the pipe ....
