(ASCEND) MAX 6000 Errors
We have been using max 6000 units for a while now. Recently our customers st
arted to complain about connection problems, which led us to have our ISDN P
RI lines tested by the local telco, which of course showed no problems. The
largest complaint is that a customer will have to call in at least 3 times b
efore they can get a connect. The software version we were using was 8.0.1,
last Friday we downgraded to 7.2.3. Now we have a new problem. Our logfiles
show on of our max 6000 units giving us the following messages:
ASCEND: modem 3:11 bad last 8 calls
ASCEND: modem 3:13 bad last 8 calls
ASCEND: modem 3:7 bad last 8 calls
ASCEND: modem 3:8 bad last 8 calls
ASCEND: modem 3:6 bad last 8 calls
ASCEND: modem 3:16 bad last 8 calls
ASCEND: modem 3:11 bad last 8 calls
The thing is that we were not getting this message before when we were runni
ng 8.0.1, this server have 4 ISDN PRI lines, and 6 16-port modem cards. Our
other MAX 6000 unit has gone through the same software downgrade, however it
does not complain about bad calls.
The only other thing that we found was going into the diagnostics, and typin
g fatal-history shows warnings of index 195, which we cannot find out what 1
95 is.
The only other difference between the 2 max 6000 units is that the second (n
o problems) has the lucent sticker on the front of it, were as the first doe
s not.
We have also read that the max 6000 should not have more than 72 modems, whe
re we run 96..
One other thing we have noticed is that customers with V.90 modems are the o
nes having the most problems.
Has anyone else had this problem, or possibly is there a third party website
out there that actually provides help, lucent's website is a mess..
Any help greatly appreciated.
