Of course you're right, this list is unsupported.
However, Lucent competitors like Cisco appear to have no problem
to offer some form of support in mailing lists and newsgroups, be
it official or not. As a matter of fact there are top people from 
Cisco posting on cisco@spot.colorado.edu and comp.dcom.sys.cisco.
And I remember Ascend being somewhat into this list as well, even
following up via email/phone on some of the more interesting
issues :)
Anyway, it's entirely Lucents choice, as much as it's our choice 
to chose the vendor and products we are most comfortable with.
