I managed to compile and run cfclient on
- SunOS sunbroy32 5.6 Generic_105181-06 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-10
- HP-UX hp3 B.10.20 A 9000/720 57914122 two-user license
- IRIX sgihalle4 6.2 03131015 IP22

The HP-UX cfclient needed some patching, which I have posted to the
list some time ago (this was just a quick&dirty fix since I didn't
have the time to figure out what the code was supposed to do...). None
of the clients compiles without millions of warnings; it seems there
is still a lot to do to get a clean compile. Some of the warnings are
serious --- "using char as subscript" will likely break the code on
compilers with signed characters...
