Senior Network Engineer Position - Roseville
Position Description
Design / install / support  LAN/WAN networks, including firewalls to provide
optimal performance.  Lead a team of  2-4 members in the development and
design of complex LAN / WAN's, with heavy emphasis on supporting Web and
Application / SQL traffic over a distributed server network environment.
Develop network policies and plans.  Documents procedures and maintains
records.  This is a highly visible position within the company which
requires excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Position Responsibilities
-Design / install / and provide daily operational support  for LAN/WAN
networks, including firewalls  to provide optimal performance as business
needs evolve, including the planning for  - and execution of - monitoring
methodologies to ensure high performance levels and minimum downtime. Plan
and wire buildings for network re-design.  Plan, install and support
hardware and software upgrades. 25%
-Provide technical expertise and support for daily operations for WAN and
VPN network services.  This includes DNS, routing and beta testing of
products.25%
-Lead a team of 2-4 members in the development and design of complex LAN's
and WAN's.  Support web hosted services WAN for content pushing between
sites.  25%
-Provide proactive input on policies and issues related to standardization.
Develop and write policies, procedures and identify best practice
solutions.15%
-Lead/participate on other projects and system operational support as the
need arises.  Performs other related duties as assigned.10%

Education, Skills, Experience:
*	BA in a technical Field(Computer Science, MIS or technical discipline)
*	8+ years experience in UNIX/NT systems designing, implmenting and
supporting complex /small LANs/WANS. Solid understanding and working
knowledge of operating systems
*	The ability to use programming tools(Powerbuilder, Visual Basic,
Framemaker, HTML, Java/Javascript, CGI, Perl,C++) and /or scripting is a
plus
*	Working knowledge or hands-on application development experience
primarilly using Oracle or SQL databases. Web site design, development and
support is a plus
*	Excellent written and verbal communication skills Write project plans,
manage work flow processes, and knowledge of internet standards
*	Government security clearance is ultimately required. Ability to be on
pager rotation on-call support
