There is a third possibility, which is that the BIOS has the wrong drive
geometry... This usually only happens if you have the settings manually set
in the BIOS and then change drives without resetting the BIOS settings...
To access the BIOS on most PCs, all you have to do is reboot the computer
and hit "DEL" as it starts up. Some BIOSes use a different key, like F2 or
Ctrl-somethingorother. It should display a message like "Hit DEL to enter
setup" as it boots.
