The only part I can help you out with is the "crossover cable" bit. And
the answer is: It depends. Yup. I love saying that.
Anyway, it depends on whether or not your hub has an "uplink port"
designed to daisy chain hubs together. If so, then a standard cat 5 cable
will work... just plug it in that old uplink port. If you do not have a
port specifically designated as such, then you do need a crossover cable
which you can then plug into any of the unused ports on your hub.
Haven't done IP masq myself (Medilinks gave me 5 static IPs!) so I can't
help you there.
