Window Maker is pretty and memory-conservative. With the dock you can have
icons for all the apps that people will use most often.

Try 'rcp', or try regular 'cp' after NFS-mounting the volume you want on
every machine. Read the man pages on how to do recursive copying and
maintain the integrity of links (if you don't already know). Tarballs are
another option.
