In my experience the quality of the POTS conversion done by the BitSURFR
(and by Pipelines too) is nowhere near as good as what you get from the
switch, so it works a lot better on a real POTS line even if the distance
is several thousand feet - versus two feet in the BitSURFR case.

I've never got a connect at anything > 33.6 while hanging off the back of a
BitSURFR or Pipeline.
