Re: (ASCEND) NFAS?

If you already have service from your phone company you can use that as a
rule of thum to estimate thier level of performance. If this is a totally
new setup, start with 2 PRIs with 2 D channels. If the service is good, when
you add a 3rd PRI, you can switch to NFAS.

In about a year and a half of service with BellSouth we have had only two
outages totalling less than 12 hours in total. one outage took out all
digital service in our 20 story building and the other took out all ISDN in
the Downtown Area. other than that we have never had any PRIs or T1s from
BellSouth down.

based on thier excellent service, we started with 2 standard PRIs (23B + 1 D
each) then ultimately switched to 4 PRIs in an NFAS group (95 B + 1 D).

(neither outage would have been prevented by having 4 B channels)
