I hereby pronounce success, at least to the degree to be expected from an extremely complex piece of equipment such as a Max. >We have a Max4048 that spontaneously and randomly reboots, sometimes with: > > FATAL ERROR: Index: 1 Load: tik.m40 Revision: 5.0Ap36 > Date: 12/17/1997. Everything _appears_ >to be working fine prior to the reboot -- ISDN calls succeed, K56 >calls succeed, OSPF works. Then suddenly, poof. > >Has anyone had reasonable uptime when using this machine with ISDN >and K56 calls? I'll gladly back down to an older release (currently >running 5.0Ap36) if that'll help. Up: 16:04:26:01 I've run tik.m40 with OSPF for months with ever-increasing stability (for the most part). We're now at 5.0Ap36 and things have been pretty good. Not perfect, but not fatal errors whatsoever. I attribute this to the following: Ascend is working bugs out, especially with OSPF, continuously. I run a 4000 with only a single PRI and a single K65-12 card. I religiously fclear, fsave, nvr after each new software load or if I start having weirdness.
