(ASCEND) 56K ZOOM problems

We have 3 new 2819 ZOOM modems that won't stay connected,
and do show a major drop-off in speed when they DO connect.

ATI3 shows 0.516-K56 DLP-A 2201, but when I called Zoom
nobody there has ever heard of an upgrade. No info on
their homepage, either.

Any ideas?

BTW, we are getting 44-50K with these, either on PRIs or CT1s-
and we're calling the CT1 pop long-distance!
