Our problem is not (yet) with a specific modem manufacturer (i.e. Motorola) but with the R2 software itself, the Max4060 with K56flex modems will not even answer incoming calls, however the box boots OK and everything looks normal, it will just not detect incoming calls (hence our concern that the MFC code was broken).

Thanks for the info on Motorola, we will be using a Motorola modem for testing, this should save us some trouble.

Can you clarify the information on the problem with R2 signaling between exchanges? We have never had any problems with R2 on the older modems, is this problem specific for K56flex?. The ABCD bits (for R2 line signaling) are carried on channel 16 of the E1, so the K56flex modem would not "see" the ABCD bits.

If R2/MFC is working OK on SE Asia then we will work with Ascend technical support until we figure out what our problem is. We just needed confirmation that the signaling is OK elsewhere so that we can concentrate on specific configuration problems. However, if you know of R2/MFC problems specific to K56flex that would help.
