A followup to my responce: Brian didn't mention which PPP driver she
uses either. Tell her to switch over to OT/PPP in case she uses
FreePPP.

  |One user responded to my 12 May 1997 post about the need to reboot
  |between connections to an ISP using FreePPP with a PowerBook 3400:
  |
  | I had the same problem with my 3400/180. While I was able to
  | connect quickly and hold the connection without a problem, if
  | I terminated the connection and tried to reestablish it
  | later, it wouldn't work. Moreover, it also made it impossible
  | to switch via TCP/IP control panel to AOL Link and make a
  | connection. After rebooting, however, either connection would
  | work the first time, but I had to between attempts to
  | connect. The solution was to switch to OT/PPP, which works
  | fine, can reconnect repeatedly and doesn't interfere with
  | switching to other TCP/IP configurations.
