(ASCEND) MAX200+ Crashes when using US Robotics

I have a Max200+ model number: M201-8M with
options: ISDN DBA DO. The unit part number
is 0700-0330-002 A REV. C.

My problem is when I use the replacement for the
US Robotics Sportster with DATAVIEW (from the
supported list) the MAX200+ locks up and the
following LED pattern is displayed: port 3 CD
port 4 TX port 5 ON CD RX TX port 6 ON CD RX.
The power light stays on and the above pattern
blinks. The MAX200+ unit locks up and will not
respond to telnet or the Console software.
The new replacement US Robotics modem is
model number: SP1626 item number: 52756-HD.

I have installed the SP1626 modem in a running
MAX200+ without rebooting, the unit remains up
and running. The modem will answer and establish
a connection but not allow the user to interact
with the MAX200+ or to start a session.

What do I need to do to get the Max200+ to stay
up and running and allow users to start sessions.
