Has anyone running a MAX 4004 with 56K cards and 5.0p27
experienced random, but frequent sessions that connect with
good baud rates, but experience terrible throughput?  Ever since
I swapped the V.34 cards with the 56K cards, I have noticed this
problem.  It happens with any type of modem, any brand.  The connection
is fine, but there will be no troughput for about 10-20 seconds and then
a burst for a few seconds.  This will repeat until the connection is
terminated.  Recconnecting sometimes will resolve it, sometimes not.
I have seen it on Zoom, USR, Motorola, Diamond, 14.4, 28.8, 33.6, 56K
modemds.
