That's spoken from my heart. Ascend - please _don't_ think your users are
DAUs (German term of "dümmster anzunehmender Nutzer", closely related to
GAU [größter anzunehmender Unfall], relaxed political correct english
translation would probably be "dumb average user"). We don't want to have
comic style manuals which speek in clouds and babysit us. Please realize
that your users may actually have knowledge that compares to your engi-
neering staffs one and - in certain cases and some areas - may even be
higher. We have read our I.430 and if not we would at least know that
we _could_ read it and what that gives to us. What I've missed from Ascend
documentation starting with my first contact with their boxes is
_hard_ _technical_ _documentation_. No "this feature is only available
in Japan" gaga, but _what_ _it_ _does_. If it is available to me or not
is _my_ decision. Did you ever document that you are doing bit synchronous
PPP on the B-Channel ? I only read PPP everywhere, but there are darn
much ways to do PPP on ISDN. I could list a lot of other examples, but
what gives. I simply want a documentation that doesn't think I'm a fool
and doesn't fear to get sued by some DAU for using more than one technical
special term per page...
