(ASCEND) 7.0.0 Base Ch Cnt fix... does it even work? (Was: upgrade)

Well, -that's- news... I had thought the fix worked since somebody
(Mike Jackson?) had used it successfully at his site. That would
make 7.0.0 unusable by us even if no other problems cropped up.

Can anyone confirm?
