In a year or so maybe... you don't really expect us to buy this bull do you
Kevin? There might be a few idiots out there that would fall this line, or
some young enough to not remember how mangled v.34 was for the first year or
so, but I think the rest of us know this is a lot of vaporwair talk right
now. The v.90 'ratified' by the ITU is simply some basic specifications, it
never even dug into the really juicy stuff.

Bottom line: 

  If Ascend wants to keep customers the first thing they need to do is stop
having the blind lead the blind. Be up front about the fact that no.. those
with USR's version of v.90 aren't going to get v.90 connects to Ascend's
equipment for a nice long time. There's a damn long way to go before we see
any true interoprability amongst vendors and you telling people that its
here now is just plain lying.
