As much bitching as we did before the buyout, I would take a unlucent
Ascend any day now. Lucent is big enough that they don't need your
business and if you don't agree with something (like a pure marketing
decision to split modem/DSL code for TNTs so you have to buy twice as
many), then tough cookies. I have been devout Ascend for several years
now, but my sales guy is leaving (for the same reasons that no one
seems to hear him) and I'm looking elsewhere from here on out for my
future needs.
