(ASCEND) LT Winmodem Connection problem

I have a customer that was connecting fine to me for several months to one
of our other access servers.  But for the past couple of days, they could
not connect at all.  On, Thursday we finally had our MAX 6000 installed and
operational, and they were able to connect to it.  Today they advised that
they could not connect at all to the new server.

Their System is an HP Pavilion 8240, and it has a LT Win Modem.  They were
running 5.70 with no problems on the other server until Thursday.  We tried
installing 5.48, 5.49, 5.54 & 5.75 and it still would not connect.  And if
it did connect, the transmit speed was terrible (4800 - 12000).

I have tried disabling V90 & K56 (-V90=0S38=0), and that didn't improve
their transmit speed.

Any Ideas as to how we can improve this customers connection?
