Re: [TCLUG:9763] Using Linux w/ MediaOne Express One-way cable modems
It quit working on FreeBSD as of version 4.6 also. I think it tries to
lookup your smtp and pop3/imap server. If you run caching DNS - you might
avoid the wait for the lookup when you are not connected. I suppose you
could add entries in your /etc/hosts files for these servers too.
