RE: [TCLUG:17130] Dreamweaver (was: <OT:anti-M$> *scary* stuff...)

Well, I took a look at IBM TopPage, and I think that
while it doesn't look _bad_, it's certainly not DreamWeaver.

I know, it kinda sounds like I'm not being fair, but this is
what happens for me (and I'm sure it happens to a lot
of people out there). Once you start using an incredibly
good tool, stepping down to a slightly less good (but
still very good) tool is very difficult.

This is why I'm sure that if I had started out with the GIMP as
my first image manipulation program, I would have really
enjoyed it. But I didn't - I started out via Photoshop. And
even though the GIMP is good, it's still not as good as
Photoshop (arguably one of the most solid commercial
applications out there). When I use the GIMP, it just doesn't
"feel" right, and I can see it's shortcomings compared to
Photoshop. (a lot of them are X shortcomings, so they can't
be held at fault for it).

Now, the GIMP is getting better, and it is free (both ways),
but when its shortcomings become a limitation to my work,
its just not a viable option for me.

I guess I'm very un-Stallman-like that way. I'm sure he'd
probably be upset with me. :P What do all you think?
