(ASCEND) Cause code 34

I've got a MAX 1800 with 4 ISDN lines on it. I'm not an expert on
ISDN by any means, so bear with me, please.

I had a weird thing happen to it yesterday. People were having
trouble making connections in, and I was having trouble connecting
out. The MAX was reporting a cause code of 34 for the failing
outgoing calls, which is listed as a "No circuit/channel available"
in the book. This was while only one or two of our eight channels
was in use. I rebooted the MAX a couple times and saw no change.

Then, mysteriously, the problem went away. I didn't do anything,
other than the reboots...

Would I be correct in assuming that the error message was referring to
the phone company not having channels available, and that it was not
an internal MAX problem?

If this is the case, it might explain why I get occasional reports of
problems during weekday afternoons from my customers.

Thanks in advance for any clues provided...

-Bill
