(ASCEND) Novell and Max4000

A customer is connecting to our max4000 (software ver 6.1.3) from a
Novell server running NetWare MultiProtocol Router 3.0. He has a
motorola 56K modem surfer with the most recent version of K56Flex
available for it. When he connects to us, he gets pretty good rates,
but only for 1 minute. Between the 56 second and 66 second mark, he
get's disconnected. The ppptrace on the novell side shows a <cr> being
sent to us, and then the novell shuts the connection down. Radius
reports this as a disconnect cause 11.

So, he sets up with our competitor running an x2 server, connects at
33.6 and stays connected. We try slowing his modem down, changing init
strings, setting the Optimal MRU, but nothing seems to work to keep us
connected.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really hate to loose a K56Flex
customer to an x2 provider because the connection is more stable.

Thanks.
