Judging from the documentation, the list of 'User Authentication Attributes'
is fixed.  In other words, there is a list of attributes which are treated
as check-items and that cannot be used as reply-items.  All the remaining
attributes, if present in the Authentication table, are treated as 'Connection
Configuration Attributes'.

When I last checked, the list of 'User Authentication Attributes' can be
found in the Cumulative Release Notes for Ascend Access Control.  Check
the section labeled "Using Authentication-Type check-items in ODBC user
profiles".
