(ASCEND) Problems on a MAX 4000

Dear folks,

here is some problem with a Max 4000 (currently running Software 6.0.10, a
8xBRI-Card and a 12x 56 Modem Card).

A colleague of mine thought he knows better and tried to upload a new
software to the MAX. After going into debug mode and storing the config via
TFTP onto another machine, he thought he should send a nvramclear which
caused the MAX to reboot immediately. Well the problem is: it doesn't get
up again. On the console port it shows the power-on self test and prints
that "Passed. Press any key" and that's it. It does NOT react to any
keypresses.

Last night another colleague managed to get to the main-screen but even the
cursor-keys (or ctrl-n) didn't work correctly.

What happened? What should we do now?

Our 2nd Max who took over the part of the other one, was just to do testing
with new software releases. When this problem occured it currently run
7.0.0 (just for testing of course). Is it possible that this one sends the
CLID to the Radius and not the UserID that came by PAP?

Now we wrote a 6.1.7 to the 2nd Max and all is again up and running but NOT
OSPF. The Max doesn't talk to our Cisco 3400. Both send OSPF Hello Packets
but the Cisco doesn't get any routes. Just if you like to ask: the settings
are 100% ok. All PW's, areas are the same. We are currently running RIP.

Nevertheless, the first question is still the most important.

Can anyone help quick, please?

Kind regards,
  Sascha Pollok
