You might need to open the Max case and clear its flash memory
and upload new code again... but you should probably call Ascend
tech support for guidance.

Yes, 7.0.0 has known problems with CLID, for normal PAP/CHAP authentication
to take place at all, CLID Auth must be set to "Ignore"

Many of the 6.1.X software releases had some sort of OSPF problem
for many people, including myself. My only solution was to skip the
entire 6.1.X branch and go to 7.0 beta, I've found 7.0b4 the most stable.

Ascend once kept all of their "incremental" software on the FTP server
so that even after the next major version release, one could still
go back to an older incremental release, but now in their 
infinitesimal wisdom they do not do the same thing with beta versions.

ASCEND SUPPORT:
Please put 7.0b4 and 7.0b6 back online so that people who have 
problems with all of 6.1.x and 7.0.0 can at least have a system 
capable of running without crashing, and able to route properly.
